Bracing for Consumers’ Holiday Spending, Credit Solutions Launches Daily ‘Smart Saving Tips’ On Twitter
Credit Solutions has launched a daily series of smart savings tips on Twitter.com designed to inspire U.S. consumers to keep saving. Follow us at www.twitter.com/SmartSavingTips.
“Twitter is one of a variety of mediums we use to connect with our customers and emphasize the importance of saving a portion of what they earn,” said Credit Solutions CEO Doug Van Arsdale.
Credit Solutions strives to educate consumers about personal finance by providing timely and insightful information, Van Arsdale said. In addition, the company’s Legislative Team occasionally tweets about state and federal regulation of the debt settlement industry.
Three years in the making, Twitter has grown by 900% in the last year alone, winning the 2009 “Breakout of the Year” Webby Award. Each post, or “tweet,” is up to 140 characters long, posts on the author’s profile page and is delivered via cell phone to the author’s subscribers, or followers. The application lets users keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
Here is a sampling of recent tweets from the company’s designated tweeter:
- Save at least 15% of all you earn. Make this a habit!
- Always do your grocery shopping with a list of items you need – and don't buy anything that's not on the list.
- Unplug devices when not in use. Many electronics continue to draw energy, even when switched “off.”
- Watch out for ATM fees, overdraft penalties and other service charges that cost the average American around $100 a year!
- Use this Savings Simulator to set a goal & project how much you can accumulate over time: http://ow.ly/vtkS
